Hello everyone! As the new Miss Texas Galaxy I realize that I am taking on a big challenge, and that this has been a surprise to many of you. I am by no means perfect, but I am a hard worker and understand the responsibilities that lie behind the title. I want to do my best to promote Galaxy and the GREAT state of Texas.   - Yes, Ashley was 1st RU, Tara was 2nd RU. In the case that Ashley was not able to represent the title, then Tara would have been next in line. This happened to the 2004 Mrs. queens. Hi, this is Laura McIngvale, Liz's sister, and let me set some things straight ok. FIRST where do you EVER come off saying something like this, and who are you to say something, what do you do?? first of all Liz is taking 19hrs this semester at UH and made A's and B's in all her clases, and is taking 31 next semester (bet you cant pull that off). Also she is now the NATIONAL spoke person for OCD and will soon be on Oprah and many talk shows CHANGING the world...again, what are you doing?? Also yeah, we have money, so what, so do you oviously if you are in pagents, but Ill tell you one thing you dont have, RESPECT or COMPASSION for others. Liz has struggled severly with a disease and now wants to help others. And by the way "daddys" money cant change her illness. Also my parents work very very hard for what we have so dont sit there and bash us, you have NO right. Liz is the most amazing person inside and out, and wants nothing but good for others, but me on the other hand want nothing to do with you or anyone like you who doesnt have a heart or compassion for those with illnesses....BY THE WAY: do you talk this bad about cancer patients??

To whoever wrote the message,

I just wanted to say, I am ok and not upset with what you wrote, although my family and friends might not be too happy about it. I get this all the time, and when I take on a campaign like I just have, I am sure this is only the beginning. But I wanted to let you know that I just finished my 19 hours this semester with no grade less than a B, and I am taking 31 hourse next semester, so that I can be on my way of achieving my Ph.D. in Psychology. I am co-enrolling at U of H and at HCC. Just so you know, on Dr. Phill I said that I am not sure that I will ever be able to get through get college, but that doesn't mean I am not going to try! I am not offended because I think you just had your facts mixed up, so I wanted to let you know whats really going on. On top of my 31 hourse next semester, and my new national campaign I am planning on working at the olive garden so that I can live solely off my own income. Yes, my parents are blessed and do have some money, I am not going to deny that. But with how much I am struggling right now with my OCD and contemplating checking back into the hospital, I wish every day that all the money could be taken away and myself as well as the other OCD sufferers could be freed of this terrible, debilitating disease. Sorry if you still feel the same way about me, but I wanted to let everyone know, money is not what I am about, for if it were that great, why would I still suffer every minute of every day?

Natalie is a BEAUTY, tall, lean, her face gorgeous, etc,etc,....and many queens drink....but to be caught UNDER AGE drinking as she is only 18 or 19 is what did her in. I am sad for her b/c she would of done great at Natioanls, maybe even would of won.I bet her mom is having a C O W. Well first of all I want to revert back to one of my charitble organizations...The Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation. I want to spend some time with the children. They always remind me how truly blessed I am and I love helping those who are less fortunate than me. I do understand that Texas is a big state and there are many things to do. Im immeadiately going to start a campaign encouraging young girls to believe in themselves and with stand the pressures of their peers and the media. I believe that self confidence and being "comfortable in your own skin" is crucial. So many times today the media and/or our peers tell us that we need to change who we are in order to fit todays image of "beautiful". Young girls have taken drastic measures to feel accepted. More than anything I want to let these girls know that they are beautiful the way God made them. And that each and everyone of us has individual gifts. I will begin speaking at elementary, junior high and high schools. There are many things I want to do, but for now I want to take things one step at a time. I promise I will try my very best to represent the great state of Texas with the upmost respect and dignity. God Bless.

Tomball teen is Miss Teen Texas Galaxy 2006
Winner will represent state in national competition

Tomball resident Mallory Martino has just won another title in the world of beauty pageants.

In July, Martino, 18, went to San Antonio to compete against 42 young women in the Miss Teen Texas Galaxy 2006 pageant, where she won first place.

"There were four different parts to the pageant," Martino said. "One-on-one interviews, fashion, swimsuit and evening gown."

Martino said along with winning the title, she also won the interview portion of the pageant.

"You sit in front of six judges, and they can ask you anything," Martino said. "It takes seven minutes. They asked me why I wanted to do pageants, why I would be a good representative for them, what I want to do in the future and what in my life is most important to me."

Martino told them the most important things in her life are her siblings, 14-year-old Natalie and 10-year-old Michael.

"They motivate me to always do my best, because I know they look up to me," Martino said.

Natalie said she was proud when she found out her sister said those things.

"I can tell you that me and Michael absolutely love her, adore her and are very proud of her," Natalie said.

This is the second title for Martino, who was crowned Miss Magnolia by the Magnolia Area Chamber of Commerce in February.

"This couldn't have happened to a nicer person," said Anne Sundquist, chamber president. "She has definitely served as a great representative for the Magnolia area."

Martino is heading to Tomball College this fall, where she will start studies in physical therapy.

As for pageants, she said she's got her eye on the ultimate goal.

"I've always wanted to be Miss Texas USA," Martino said."But you want to be experienced before you do that, so maybe in a few years."
