Wow Jessica really had some great advice. Yes, they are different and I bet Paul could give some more advice on hand feeding Ceaser. To me, Ceaser looks older than 12 weeks but that is just what I can see in the pictures. I would give him lots of finely chopped veggies in a dish. You can take a stainless steel skewer and hang whole fresh foods so it will be a toy, plus food to chew up. Kale leafs make wonder wraps surprises of food and they are fun when weaved between the cage bars. I would remove the seed bowl completely. I don't think you want Ceaser to have seeds that early on. I know here in the nursery, where I got Rustika from, they never give seeds to babies. The babies get pellets and a veggies mixture along with hand feedings. They cut back on the hand feedings and watch their weight closely with a scale twice to three times a day. They want the babies to get hungry enough to eat but not starve to where they lose too much weight. I know Rustika lost weight right after I brought her home. She didn't eat enough the first day or so. I was worried that she would need an extra feeding but I waited and it wasn't long before she got the idea that she had to eat. Now she eats just about anything I put in front of her or she will at least give it a beak try.
You can make a corn bread mixture with fresh mixed frozen veggies. I use jiffy corn bread box, one egg, mix with water to make a batter, chop up bell pepper, brocolli, squash, sweet potatoe, and add mixed frozen veggies to the batter. You can do the veggies fresh or frozen never use canned because of the sodium content. Cook at 350 until you see that it is cooked to golden brown or comes clean with a tooth pick. Cut up and freeze in bags. Take out a bag a day and heat. Serve warm but not too warm to burn their crops. Birds seem to love that corn bread with veggies. You can add whatever you want to that mixture like pumkin, raisins, or nuts. It's a throw together thing that is easy to do. I place chopped nuts on mine or sprinkle lightly with cinnamon.
