Subject: Changes on the horizon for the Balloon Festival!

I am elated to announce that there are a few changes that are in the planning stages for 2008 for one of the newer fairs and festival pageants in our state. The University Motors Mountaineer Balloon Festival will feature pageants for contestants from ages of 3-21 next year. Our plans include having the Teen and Queen Pageant earlier in the season (perhaps in the late spring/early summer) and the coronation and titleholders hot air balloon ride at the festival. We wish to allow our inaugural titleholders to have a full reign; they are and will forever be our very first titleholders! The 2008 titleholders will take over their queenly duties after the crowns are placed on their heads. The pageant will be held indoors (this is for the contestants and folks who weathered the 90 degree {PLUS} heat for the pageant this year!) at a location to be determined later.

We have also decided to include a pageant for the younger ones in our state in �08. I received numerous calls, emails and requests for a childrens/ young ladies pageant in my preparation for the Queen/Teen pageant this year. It will be held on the festival grounds during the Balloon Festival.

After our pageant, I asked for input and suggestions from my contestants and their mothers. I read each one carefully and hopefully you will see many of them applied at next years pageant.

On a final note, pageantry is about fun and building self esteem. Please support these young ladies!! It takes a lot of courage to stride out on that stage. If they walk away with the crown or if they do not~ they need us standing by, cheering them on and giving them our admiration. I honestly believe that the best our state has to offer wear taupe shoes!!!!
