Subject: Sports Summary from Sexy Susan

You know Oldie, one of these days I'm going to give a detailed update on my son's football team on one of your boards. However, I don't know of any of the football boys, cheerleaders, or the dance team that smoke.

Last night, our boys learned you can't make too many mistakes and win. You can't depend on a miracle finish to bail you out all the time. I hope the coaches figured out they have the offense they need right there on campus.
My son could have been a hero when he intercepted a pass and returned it for an apparent touchdown only to have a phantom clip called.
Later, we could have gotten the ball back sooner but they called my son on the late hit. The boys are disappointed.
The lack of passing offense is apparent. It's difficult with an average passer. Coaches like to run because they can keep the ball but when you don't score when you have the ball for 4 minutes before halftime and can't get a third down for 3 tries in the fourth quarter, you have problems and a 14-7 loss.
We had the ball more than they did and, in fact, had more total yards but most of it was rushing and short passes on third and long yards.
Now, for smoking. There was a very smokey parental huddle when we got back to town. You could drink but the prevalent beverage was coffee which goes well with complaints.
Cart, the famous ex who does not have a child on this team, said today's football is not made for a slow running weak-armed quarterback like he was.
"We would have done what we needed to do to win," promised Peggy's husband, the star running back on the team.
"We have the offense to get way ahead and they already have the guys to kill time," said Howard, the emerging new officer of the booster club.
Of course, Peggy is the President of the club. I sat on the edge because my second son has the arm that is helping the junior varsity score about 50 points a game. Lee, son of the former running star is the main recipient of my son's passes.
Howard and Evelyn's son is a sophomore with the JV now. He has great hands and slow feet.
All the women at the session except Myra, who will marry Cart in 2 weeks, was smoking. Soon she reached for one of my Capri 120s. Cart kept is attention on the local football situation. Myra soon finished that one and lit one of Peggy's Parliaments.
Then it was a Marlboro from Eve. This time she took her holder out of her purse and inserted the Marlboro before lighting it.
Myra said she had started smoking but was not going to go public until after their honeymoon. Peggy said what happens here is still private.
Peggy's probably smoked with all 3 of Cart's previous wives. It should be noted that Cart's third wife who keeps their twin boys, was back smoking at last night's game.
Other than that, the usual smokers were smoking. Amber did not smoke as far as I know.
More later. Come in one and all. Hope the Vet deal works out, Cathy.
