I can take a wild guess that your medication has Malachite Green added to it? All scale-less fish are very sensetive to medications and I have had this happen with my Kuhli Loaches and Glass Catfishes about 6 months ago. I bought my first elephant nose today so I am not knowledgable on the species, but they are scale-less - I have seen even pet shops over-medicate and kill loaches. The bottle will say a half dose reccommended, but I would reduce it by half again, or buy another tank and treat the fish specifically.
Good Luck.
