Subject: How to take care of a fish

I have read 2 messages throughout this forum and have found that no one looks into their new hobbly the know nothing about. First off, I have had one freshwater tank but now I have a 90G saltwater. After experience from saltwater, the freshwater tank is far less matience and demanding. I consider it not a challenge as to salt, but salt is increasinly more expensive. For freshwater or saltwater you MUST HAVE a filter. Now, you don't need a filter but if you don't want the fish being subject to a horrible life THE LEAST you can do is buy it a 20 dollar "Power Filter." The 2nd thing, for a fish chlorine is like drinking acid. Ammonia is like bathing in acid, and silicon and other metals found in water clog the gills. USE A 5 DOLLAR water treatment like "Kordons" chlorine remover. 3rd, in saltwater species like triggerfish and aggresive fish become territorial. When you add aggresive fish to ANY tank, make sure they are the LAST fish to enter. Fish make territories and such that in a 10G tank they are going to find that "There isnt enough room for the both of us" and one of the fish is going to peck at the other until it dies. When buying/ or planing to buy more than one of the same species always buy them at the same time. This ensures, but does not always work to keep territories at bay. The last fish is always the most timid, this is because it is like a new neighboor, they don't always fit in right from the begging, things take time. And no, fish don't get loney. Anyways, do a little frieken research before you go throwing in any damn fish you see. Pisses me off that people take life for grantite, some of you think I am a nut but what if you were a fish in a 10 GALLON LIVING SPACE with no means of a clean area to live.
