I would make sure you have plenty of hiding places for the young. Some plants at the bottom as well as floating plants. I also have some large river stones clustered at the bottom for the fry. My black mollie babies are 2 weeks old and big enough to not be eaten now. My dalmation mollie had about 15 fry earlier in the week. So far so good they're all still swimming about and hiding in the nooks and crannies. :) Good Luck. ~Juliet
