Hi. A two weeks ago I bought an elephant nose from my local walmart. They claimed it was an elephant nose dolphin...needless to say I bought it, took it home and it jumped out over night. So I took it back and they gave me another one. This one lived for a few days but died also. So then I called WalMart back and they would exchange it for me but they didn't have anymore of the elephant nose dolphins. In its place we got a flipper dolphin and a baby whale. The flipper died and the whale isnt doing so well. To make a longer story short, I called PetSmart and the manager there said the complete opposite of what WalMart said. They are not any relation to the dolphin of any kind. Neither is the whale. They are pulling these animals from the wild and trying to domesticate them. These fish hardly ever live once taken out of their NATURAL environment. When the "dolphins" get stressed out and upset they send off an electrical current that can kill any other fish in the aquarium. However to begin with these fish are suppose to be kept either alone in the aquarium or with just a few tiny fish, like a tetra or something. Do not stick two of the dolphins together either. They send of signals that irritate the other dolphins or whales in the aquarium.
Just thought I would share my experience with these cool looking fish with you in hopes that it might help you out. Don't trust WalMart about their fish!!!
Good Luck!
