Here is my take. I woke up this morning and my Elephant fish (named Cyrano) was dead. I had him 3 weeks. He is in a tank with 7 small non electrical fish. The tank has a ph of 7.0 and a temperature of 75 degrees. I was told to feed him blood worms and that he would also eat flakes and tubifish. I haven't fed him blood worms since the 1st week. Last night he started behaving strangely...swimming in the upper portion of the tank when he ususally hung out near the bottom. He got along great with the other fish. From reading about this fish on several websites I have come to the conclusion that no one really knows about this fish. While some information seems consistant, (ph and temperature) other information differs, (number of elephant fish per tank, what to feed them). He was the coolest fish I've owned and I will miss him but won't replace him as it seems they die quite often and don't fare well in captivity.
