I've been having my aquarium about 6 months. During the period I've learned a lot. Elephant fish is one of my favorate. I did exactly you did. I've noticed of ICK and treated it with medicine and killed 2 of elephant fish and watching them dying wasn't a good feeling. If you read a warning on the medicine bottle, it should say "don't use on the scaless fish. Elephant is scaless and you may need to him somewhere while you are treating your tank with medicine.
