Well I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and he pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well, it goes like this, the fourth, the fifth
The minor fall and the major lift
The baffled king composing hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

Well your faith was strong, but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty in the moonlight overthrew you
And she tied you to her kitchen chair
And she broke your throne, and she cut your hair
And from your lips you drew the hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

He had made his way down to the lobby and was sitting at the end of the large, long, pine bar. A full beer was in front of him along with a half empty pitcher that had obviously recently been drained. His eyes were half closed, his fingers absently tapping against the wood as he let out a soft breath and his brow furrowed. He looked the typical heartbroke man who was drowning his troubles in his beer, though much more handsome them most. He was drawing more then one glance from people around him, men wondering if he was stable and women wondering if he was desperate. His hand occasionally lifted to run through his hair but even if it wasn't doing that it was never still. His ADD was sending his nerves into overdrive and he just couldn't sit still, no matter his drunken stupor. The opposite hand lifted, waving the barkeep over and informing him he would be needing another pitcher of beer as soon as possible.

Well baby I've been here before
I've seen this room and I've walked this floor, you know,
I used to live alone before I knew you
And I've seen your flag on the marble arch
And love is not a victory march
It's a cold, it's a broken hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

He couldn't believe that she hadn't even once said thank you for coming for her. Hadn't once asked about anyone besides herself. She had been totally emersed in her and her problems but yet she was still to damn proud to ask for help before this got so out of hand. If she had just told them all what was going on she could have gotten help without ever having to shoot up herself, after that first hit they could have gotten her into rehab, it would have been easy to get her off of it. She wouldn't have probably even needed the rehab, they could have just gotten her some sort of pro-active drug to offset the affects and she would have been fine but no, she had been to damn selfish and self reliant to let anyone help her. Not to mention, there was now Courtney. Sweet, innocent, hopeful Courtney. She tried to put on such a front but it wasn't a bitter one like Gia had, it was just tough. She was a good agent and she knew it, that was damn attractive. She was so warm and soft in his bed, so willing to let him have control and care for her. So sweet about letting him coddle her when she was hurt and he loved that, he was a nuturer by nature, he just liked to coddle women but Gia hadn't wanted that, hadn't let him do that. Now he was going to hurt Courtney in the process because he was just as fucked up in the head as Gia was. God, why did his heart hurt so much? It was an actual physical pain and it was threatening to suffocate him.

Well there was a time when you let me know
What's really going on below
But now you never show that to me, do you?
I remember when I moved in you
And the Holy Dove was moving too
And every breath we drew was hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Hallelujah, hallelujah

Maybe there is a God above
But all I've ever learned from love
Was how to shoot somebody who outdrew you
And it's not a cry that you hear at night
It's not somebody who's seen the light
It's a cold and it's a broken hallelujah
