Ewwwww!!!! I couldn't even look at that! It looks like a giant piece of raw liver!

Oh yeah, and take it from my bf. Do not run out of the room to tell everyone what you've just had when it's time to cut the cord! Don't make the nurses chase you down the hallway! Nate was born and Roy hit the door to go call his Mom. They chased him down the hallway, but we had to wait until he was done on the phone.

Oh and I only got half the dose of epidural because I was moving so quickly. It's very scary when they tell you to hold still but you're in labor! Anyhow, just before Nate was born, the epidural wore off. They quickly gave me the other half (which was then scary afterwards because I couldn't feel anything below my waist). But anyhow, I can honestly say I know what it's like to have a baby with and without the epidural and I suggest the epidural!

I don't really see myself having a problem with the placenta (I don't have problems with blood and stuff - I watched my wife get a 2.5"x1" chunk of skin cut out of her chest last year because of precancerous melanoma, and it didn't really bother me). It's just the giant vagina with a tiny human coming out of it that may leave a lasting, negative impression.

But your plan with your BF sounds pretty good. That may be what we end up doing.
