No one will confuse the existing ezcornell forum, from a new one. Either they are already an active member or reader on of the the two (in which case they will certainly recognize their's from the other one), or they have never before read either of them (in which case, it doesnt matter which one they check out first).

About the cornell name, being used:

It's a close call, but I kind of like the idea of having it in there. Really, the only reason NOT to have it in there, is to make the board more country-club like, and keep out the riff-raff. While that seems attractive right now, there exists the danger of this fire eventually burning itself out. It's not unusual for some of the people who are posting here, to one day become bored, distracted by real life, or something else that makes them stop coming around and posting. I think that picking up newbies here and there is helpful in the long run. Some of them are lame, but some of them might add some insight or bring some energy, that helps keep the forum alive.

A compromise?

How about we omit Chris Cornell's name and call ourselves the Nickelback forum, so we can still lure some curiosity traffic.

I'm with Garlic, I always found that having some new energy around always adds a little variety. I've found from going to different forums lately, that it's always the regulars and it becomes stale pretty quickly. My feeling is ok I'll check in when something interests me but, carry on with your regular chit-chat. Another thing about what happened at the CC forums is that anyone who ever was a nuisance always eventually faded out, so it was never a concern for me. BTW I've found Charles Baer at a few places, he's ignored everywhere.

The name well, that's a toughy, considering we are a spawn of the CCforum, but are we still all fans, I don't think most of us like AS. In the final days of the CCforum, that's what caused alot of aguing, so if we are going to name it after CC and go public, then there may be some newbies who'll be asking us. "What are we doing there if we aren't fans". NO we are not naming our forum after NICKELBACK . LOL

I still like the "forum for unofficial fans" name.
