People can read the newspaper and take it out of context, so no surprise that the "word of god" can be misunderstood.

~~~ but taking a piece from the bible like the chariots thingy, without the entire content shouldn't be judged either. Why would I say that one little piece is weird (ofcourse chariots are weird to us) without knowing where it came from as a whole. That's not logical.
Chico, I apologize if I misunderstood what you said to Twan about having an open mind. Reading back, I see it can be interpreted either way.
Re- the Infidels.org site, I don't see what problem you have with the site, because they have links for every verse quoted, so it can be read in context.
I think the meaning is clear.
We are told God is omnipotent [lol, i almost typed impotent there] Then, we are told God and Judah couldn't defeat the plainsmen.
As omnipotent means having unlimited power, and of course God is believed to be all powerful, how could he not be able to defeat a few plainsmen in iron chariots?
From the King James Version-~~ And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.~~
It doesn't say in what form the Lord was with Judah,physically or spiritually. But they couldn't win the battle.
Everyone knows the commandment- Thou shalt not kill. But in Exodus 32:27
~~~And he said unto them, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Put every man his sword by his side, and go in and out from gate to gate throughout the camp, and slay every man his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbour.~~~

Hmmm, sounds like killing to me.........

2 Kings 19:35
~~And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.

This would make God a hypocrite.
