Definitely. I didn't mean to imply some sort of direct link between JB and U2, I just meant that I don't think he would have sounded exactly the way he did had U2 never existed.

And I agree, the latest U2 album was less than stellar. I bought it and listened to it maybe three times. It's sat on my shelf ever since (much like AS). But to me, that doesn't discount their earlier work in the slightest. Achtung Baby and The Joshua Tree and War and The Unforgettable Fire. All amazing works of art, any way you slice them.

And not a Radiohead fan? You crazy lady. I personally think they come more from the Beatles school - started out with simple, quality pop/rock songwriting, but became more interested in experimental sounds and socially conscious lyrics later in their career. Just my take.

I really do like Coldplay but I don't think they're the best band out there. Honestly, I don't know who I would put up there myself but it wouldn't be Coldplay. I think they're an absolutely awesome band and I can't wait for their new one already (I didn't really dig their latest one as I had hoped I would). I really dig your comparisons to the superheroes by the way.

I'm also not a big U2 fan but I respect them. They do have good songs but Bono's voice just doesn't do it for me. I actually think that Coldplay admires U2 and Radiohead and they draw inspiration from both of them. However, they've come up with their own sound and it's awesome.

I totally agree with your comparison with Radiohead to The Beatles. That's another band I can't wait to hear from again.
