definitely not bad
it's one of their (spirits) ways of communicating with us.
I also believe what others said, they 'visit' at certian times for certian reasons & alot of it is symbolic. Like coded messages with meanings which are specific & understandable just for/to you.

The dead can visit you in your dreams. I believe this. Since no one can really explain "where" we go when we sleep/dream (speaking spiritually), and no one can explain all of the dark matter in the universe...I have to think that they are somehow related...that we cannot know where we go when we dream, and we cannot know what comprises dark matter, because in our "awake" state, we cannot comprehend the greater mysteries of our existence without some kind of belief system getting in the way.

Your friend probably had something to tell you. Try to put yourself into the frame of mind that you were in when he appeared...maybe you will catch the message :)
