i also thought the security reasons explanation was lacking in substance. not only does there not seem to be a new forum being made, but also dos anyone else notice that the rest of the site is there totally intact? it seemed from our "explanation" that the whole site was being revamped. i assumed if they wanted to update it to include all of CC's career, that would include the biography section, the news, the images, the audio. well all of that shit is there just as it always was. so i buy the whole thing even less. plus as twan pointed out, they don't n eed to take down the old one to be building a new one.

so, the mystery lives on. maybe they didn't like the anti cc comments. maybe some of the strong defenders complained to fullerene. maybe cc saw it and complained to fullerene. we may n ever know.

has anyone here written to fullerene? i wonder what would happen if we did, and pointed out soome of this and asked for answers. i hate uncertainty.

wolfie - I wouldn't talk to us either, if I were Chris. Unlike many people at cc.com, I never took it personally that he didn't pop in and say hi. I actually respected him more for that, to be honest.

But I really do wonder if he or someone who knew him had a problem with the constant negativity around there lately. I don't know, I just felt like the place became less about praising him and his work and more about bitching about him and his work.

There almost seemed to be a contest, of sorts, to see who could be the most insulting when it came to AS sometimes. Like some people took it personally that he wasn't creating what they wanted him to.

I just listen to other stuff. I hope he comes back to darker, more experimental music some day with different musicians (as much as I loved RATM, they are too one-dimensional for Chris), but I have plenty of other stuff to fill my ears until then.

I don't know the point I'm trying to make here. I just wish things could have gone a little differently at the end. I don't ever want to impede on people's ability to express their opinions about anything, but I don't think anyone exists in a vaccuum, either.

What's done is done, though. I don't think there's any real point in pursuing the matter further (with Fullerene or Bill or anyone else), as they seem to have said as much as they want to say. So, now we just wait and hope that the new version isn't a big steaming pile of crap.
