Truthfully, I never thought CC was a computer person and checked in on the forum, never. I have heard him say so himself, but I do think he was more aware of what a forums purpose is, it's to get fan feedback. So I guess he was also way past EM to keep it running and yeah, people always expressed a large amount of negativity about AS and they blamed him for not being a fan anymore, because we were at his name site. I'm sure RAGE sights get the same kind of thing. I also think an artist should listen to what the fans have to say whether it's good or bad. I'm sure he was more upset with what was being said about his family. I don't like things that is always one sided, that's not very good for discussion. I think alot of the things that were said went too far and some people didn't know when to end arguments and it started to get personal. It also octrasized others from joining in on the topic and expressing their opinions. I do feel a little guilty and sad that it did end with such a bad outlook on Chris and I do still love the guy and I am a fan.

It's me, a light. I got jealous of people who altered/shortened their names, so I'm jumpin' on that bandwagon. Think of all the typing I'll save myslf! :P

anyway...

On 2/17 Willywalter posted this in the Promotional Ideas category

This forum [PI]

and the questions forum will more than likely being going away. Forum consolidation has been the plan for awhile to limit the confusion across the board.

I needed the off-topic forum in place first before moving to proceed with moving posts from questions and this forum into other forums.

With these two forums gone, the categories would look like the following:

Audioslave
Equipment
Other Music
Politics
Off-Topic

Give me your feedback on that. While this forum is useful for gathering information and feedback, the mods and I can really use any forum for it. You all should feel free to PM me or the mods as well with idea's or suggestions at any time.

I cannot guarantee the ideas will be implemented but I can guarantee others will be made aware of what this terrific fan-base is saying!

-Bill

So, the Promotional Ideas category there will be merged into their other forums. The Questions category will also be phased out... who knows when or how. Seems Bill is going in the less-categorization direction we all seemed to agree upon in our main thread in the Questions category. Needless to say it would have been nice if he visited there too.

In any case, our cc.com-oriented threads will start being part of a general off-topic place. A good way of becoming even more lost in the shuffle.

I had an idea that would seem paradoxical to our anti-category stance, but which makes sense to the specific situation at hand. That would be to have a special Chris Cornell section as part of the AS forum, for those of us who A: would like to continue discussions with other members of our MIA forum (like here, but more 'official'); and/or B: Those who are interested in discussing Chris but do not perceive themselves as Audioslave fans per se.

I think that would be a decent good-will, good-faith gesture to Chris fans, official or otherwise, who suddenly, without warning or real explanation got cut off from their regular gathering place. A lot better than an invitation to pull up a lawn-chair in a tent where people have the habit of asking "If you don't like Audioslave why do you come here??"

What do you think? Too contradictory to our general free-for-all stance? Not our place to ask 'favors'? Or feeling it's legitimate to let our voices be heard and our discussions be had in the 'official' forum closest to our common interest?
