Subject: NEIL ARMSTRONG

Neil Armstrong, first to set foot on the moon, passed away. I am a member of this Flash Gordon fan club and long time follower of NASA. Our group salutes in tribute. He will be missed by his fellow crew, NASA, friends, fans.. and most of all, by his family.

National Geographic recently made a good documentary...Journey to the Edge of the Universe, a dazzling portrayal from various sources. I found it moving. I also know NASA made reference to scifi works like Flash Gordon in dialogue, banter.

Neil Armstrong, Godspeed, and may you see the wonders in your own journey to the edge of the universe. Thank you for your bravery, knowledge, and what you have accomplished, along with your team. Condolences of course to your family members and your extended family.. at NASA, friends, fans. As you see fit Neil Armstrong, rest or travel in peace.

I was twelve years old in July 1969, and still remember the sense of awe and wonder the Apollo 11 mission inspired in so many people.

Officer Torch's words are a fine tribute to a humble icon, Neil Armstrong.

I always remember the inscription etched into the plaque the Apollo 11 astronauts left behind on the surface of the moon. The inscription on the plaque read:

"Here Men From The Planet Earth First Set Foot Upon the Moon, July 1969 A.D.

We Came in Peace For All Mankind."
