Ming was probably a genius, although I agree with Officer Torch that it was unwise of him to allow Zarkov to work in the labs unmonitored. On the other hand, Zarkov's own ingenuity seemed hard for evil aliens to resist. I have just started watching Trip to Mars, and when Zarkov is first brought before Queen Azura, she quickly surmises that he would be a useful tool in her conflict with the Clay People.

Zarkov is Earth's good genius while Ming is Mongo's evil genius. Polar opposites, but with some things in common.

Errors of this nature are not permitted. Some form of punishment is in order. You will be sent to Mongo for a week for rehab. You will be escorted over the light bridge (but you first) since it seems to have some intermittent problem. You'll be placed on a ship for Mongo. You'll have to share your quarters with a Forest man plagued with lice, and a crazed Clayman who insists he's Gumby.

On Mongo, your itinerary will be as follows:

Day 1: Gocko general housekeeping chores in the Tunnel of Terror region, 24/7. You will be given asbestos garments, a new BIG shovel, and a paper respirator type mask.

Day 2: You'll be a test subject in one of Thun's gyro ships Ming captured equipped with a new improved (?) gyroscope. (Hopefully, this will be more successful than earlier models...FYI, the so-called "monkey men" were early test subjects.)

Day 3: Bolt tightening duty and corrosion inspection...you will work 23/7 in Kala's underwater palace. You will check every bolt, and all metal parts for corrosion. A small bottle of oxygen will be given to you, along with a snorkel, just in case. You'll be given an hour a day for the all-the-octosac-you-can-eat buffet.

Day 4: Working with the high priest. An easy day...you'll be polishing the gong, used for various social functions, in the presence of the high priest. As you polish, he will relate the story of his life, cackle some, lecture you about Tao, cackle some more, and test the gongs loudness by observing your lateral movements near the gong.

Days 5 and 6: Onward to Vultan's sky city...you will spend two days there. First day, you will work feeding the atom furnace, alone. The second day will be less demanding....you will be in a studio audience as Vultan practices his shadow puppet shows. It is suggested you look amused since Orso will be in the area, and it's possible your garments may be spiked somehow with honey.

Day 7: A split day ...morning on Mongo sparing with the orangopoid for a couple hours in the arena (careful, his K9 teeth hurt and need some root canal work), and PM on Mars cleaning debris generated by operation of the nitron lamp. (You can use the same asbestos garments you used on Mongo if you remembered to take them.)

Well, a week isn't so bad....hey! At least you weren't turned into a Clay Man!

Regards from Toran, King of the Forest People, an honest race on Mars. (Heh, Heh)...OH! NO CAMERAS ALLOWED!
