It was a benefit of being a large, overactive man.. he had a stellar metabolism. Between mouthfuls, he took long sips of his soda and before long had polished off the plate before him, getting up to rinse it off and set it in the sink. With a fresh can of soda in hand, he returned to where he had been leaning on the counter and looked at her.) What would you say if I told you I wouldn't be going away anymore? (He asked her at last, having drawn out the asking of the question for long enough.. he was worried that she would be upset.. thinking that he had taken the job because he worried about her.. he knew she accepted his job as part of him, but he was ready to work as commander and to lead the men from home.)
