(He rolled his eyes at her words, as though he would actually forget to do something.. he, with the memory of a herd of elephants and all.) I did so take them to the hotel, Shaylin. (He said in a mock indignant tone, then dropped the heavy bags and gestured at the smug mother in laws.) Those two said these are for you.. though for the life of me I dont know where we'll put the bodies they must have stuffed in them. (He said as he streched his arms over his head and then went to hug and kiss his wife hello.) (After helping Shay to her feet he had sort of shuffled over to the bar counter and stood with his hands in his pockets, simply watching the reunion taking place. As Haylie joined him, he looked over out the corner of his eye and then stepped closer to her so that they were almost touching and he could feel the heat from her body against his arm.) Why do I get the feeling that those two are in cahoots? (He said in a low voice, barely moving his lips in the manner he would in the field, speaking of the way Dani and Kate were standing so close and smiling so brightly.. this many people in a room made him feel skittish, and his bond with Haylie was automatically stronger since he knew she felt the same.)

        She just gave the couple a small smile before she turned her attention back to the brooding man who had just stalked away from her. Her anxiousness eased a little as the crowd of people left the room and headed into the hallway, leaving the apartment quiet. A soft breath escaped her lips as she crossed over to the couch, toeing off her shoes and tucking her legs up beneath her, her elbow resting on the arm of the couch and her hand in her palm as she let her eyes follow him. "I have to admit, usually I know what I do to piss you off because hey, it's a fairly regular thing, me pissing you off, but this time I am at a complete loss as to what I did to set you off." She stated honestly, her eyes on him, her voice flat and barely showing her curiosity. She just wanted to know what had pissed him off when he had been ok when she got there.
