What did X do wrong?
first of all his negative attitude didnīt help him, he did not care studentsīneccesities when he prepared his class he knew that students didnīt like the kind of programme he presented. Since the beginning he showed to the students that he was againts them. He treathened them by telling them that they wouldnīt be allow to go home, thatīs not fair.
What shouldn't he had done?
In my opinion, x shouldnīt have left the classroom, he shouldīt have told the students about good and bad programs, he shouldnīt have asked them to do a summary of the programme, in conclusion, he doesnīt know how to prepare a class, he is a tradicional teacher, he doesnīt like his job.
What could he do in order to make this class more interesting?
First of all, if the teacher wants to present a topic in order to improve studentsīlistening he should have prepared an interesting class for them, prepare some good activities before the tv show in order to give ss clues about the programme in other words backgraound, so that ss become interesting in the topic, the teacher should be enthusiastic, positive and helpful, he should encourage ss to learn. The teacher should be more dynamic, maybe prepare a pre-activity and post-activity,and not only to use a tv programme to improve listening also to learn vocabulary related to the topic or practise speaking. In conclusion, all the teachers should think in their ss leasrning and in what ss want to learn more than in what they want to teach.
