Subject: Isn't it the truth, though..

I remember the first "ASSumptions" made during the OKC tragedy. Everyone said it was the Muslim Terrorists. I remember the "hush" on people as soon as everyone found out it was an..eh, hem (choking as I say it)..American Citizen.

When I first got married, we lived over on Camelot Court in Lowell. I chose it because we could see the river every day from our balcony. Many of the occupants there were Muslim. We became very friendly with a Pakistani couple next door, and they would invite us over for dinner. The best people I had ever known! Although their customs towards woman were something I didn't agree upon, they were not rude, hateful or against me as a Catholic. They called us their sister and brother. And, the husband explained the Muslim religion to me, including the Qu'Ran. It is truly very much like our Bible, and they only believe in one God, as well as profits that followed him.

What these terrorists believe is not even true Muslim. It is an offshoot of the religion, making it a belief all their own. They are a small group that believe this. The true "Koran" does not believe in suicide, nor does it believe in terrorism of any sort, for any cause.

Hatred is so easy to do when tragedy strikes. Understanding and finding the truth are much harder things to do. It is easy to blame, for when we grieve, we look for an enemy that caused our pain. Look back at WWII, when we took every Japanese resident (more were TRUE AMERICANS than some other Americans were) and threw them all in camps!

I gotta admit, I had a sign I thought was cute on my car. It was the Eagle with Bin Ladin's head in it, reading, THE EAGLE IS PISSED! But, it was taken off and replaced with NEVER PROUDER TO BE AMERICAN.

I had my American flag flying LONG BEFORE any of this happened. And, I have no intentions of ever taking it down, until it is worn. I will quickly replace with a brand new one.

Thanks, Math Girl! You have great input on this board!
Kelly
