So "our" (yours and mine) antiquity has been established. I'll "lol" a bit later. Meanwhile, agreed on the point about the county info. As with all things "Newburgh", we'll wait'n'see. Should Karpeles/Newburgh Savings Bank be relegated to some sort of homeless establishment, I've no doubt that we can all be certain that there's money in the move to benefit those who are already siphoning wads of cash. "Homeless" is a lucrative industry, can be heavily funded by Fed/State/County. deBlasio knows this. Bloomberg discovered that by converting just about every empty or semi-empty structure in NYC to a "Something For The Homeless", the big bux came a-rollin' in. Party for all (except the homeless who he systematically bused out of The City & dumped them, like vermin, into the wilds of suburbia). I think the Ritz (Newburgh) is a damn good example of how the NBG gov. figures that all out. As for condos, let's review the past 20 years of the "Great Revitalization" of the "Broadway Corridor" & all the promises of grand gloriosity from river to Robert Hall's (now THERE'S a reference to be researched)! Fingers went out to those who not only didn't know the history of the area but didn't (& don't) want to know. East to West, North to South, Water St. to Wisner Ave. they came, they saw, they purchased! THEN they got smart & realized that there was more money to be made in write-offs, capital losses & 'subsidies". Pffft went the "de luxe" & "Hello 'Aubrey Crabcakes Memorial' green-space for the children", a celebration of the "cultural diversity" & rich'n'recent history of the great city of NBG! Damn the housing! Damn the business! What we can't convert to prosperous crack'n'gang houses we'll turn into open spaces where the Hudson Valley breezes can blow freely! I'll stick with the "rich'n'recent" history & await the announcement: "City Council unanimously approves sale of 94 Broadway to _____" (Fill in the blank with the religious tax exempt foundation of your choice.) Or? (Stay tuned for the next episode.)
