Oddly, I saw the "Poseidon" post as supportive to what appeared to be your concern about the chemicals present in the water supply and certainly not contradictory in any fashion.

Your retorts indicate that you are what is known as a "Newcomer" or a "local" swayed by the allure of procuring some sort of acceptance by those who are "Newcomers", consciously ignorant of the complex history of the city & town, wishing to remain so & making all efforts to re-writing that history. If I'm incorrect, please accept apologies. If I'm correct, I see that our conversation is at an end because excessive experience with the new ilk has proven, repeatedly, that conversation, discussion, debate of any sort is futile.

As for having lived through the early years of tinkering with the water supply of Newburgh, and a great much more of the history of the lost cause that is called "Newburgh", notorious, experience has shown, quite far & wide, one would be again, best advised, to speak with other "survivors" & heed their words. Newburgh is not known for caring for or about its residents. Rather, its more a "lab cage", suitable for nothing more than macabre experimentation. Its subjects tend to remain living proof of these efforts. To date, none of the results have been without their damage, from the health issues to the very government (allegedly "elected" by the guinea pigs/lab rats that are the population) to the socio-economic atrocities, high crime rates, "slum" designations, &c.

Contradict if you wish, but the evidence is clear. All one need do to witness/prove is visit (or read the documentation, including current "news").

I leave you with this missive to ponder (or not, as I expect is more the matter).
