Karpeles Museum About To Disappear

Recent talk around town is that the museum has been sold!

Laughing point is the listing:
"Available "as is." Newburgh Restoration's of Broadway & Liberty St. under major revitalization in months just ahead."

What do they mean by "as is"? What kind of damage has been done to the old Newburgh Savings Bank building? And "in months just ahead" about "revitalization"? WHO are they kidding?

Point is: Let's face it, Karpeles is the only bit of real culture that Newburgh's ever had, other than the culture that's been growing in the cesspools. Last bastion of anything worth having, last trace of class above lowest.

WHY are Karpeles selling now and to whom? Research is turning up nothing but this sort of listing. Where's the beef? Where are the particulars? Where's the public information? Why the secrets?
