We know that SOmebody broke into Lucan's London joint right after the conclusion of Spell, and JB was too late to get the thing he was looking for. I have the sneaking suspicion that the ancient sorcerer is one of the 5 that Queen Abby needs, and that we'll meet him later. But there is no reason for me to say these things. There is no proof. yes, yes yes! even his car is a wolf! I didn't get that before! OMG! This is a tremendous amount of fun. And JB is yummy indeed. I totally agree with you. I keep reading it over and over, and while I see the number of times he threatens to kill Mac, I also see the kind things that he does. I'll go from thinking what a horrible thing to say to Fio (about her merely 'serving his needs') to hearing him tell Mac that he was the only one willing to take her on as a student, to try to help her survive.
