Subject: Arts Centre

You may recently have read in the local press that, as a result of the sale of the airport, Bradford Met has decided to make grants of £100,000 to every ward in the district to benefit "the community". This may be a grant towards a group, a community building or a project to generaly improve the "community's lot". The award (which I believe will be made early next year) will be on the recommendation of the ward's three councillors. I think all the users of the town's Arts Centre will agree that the building is now in need of some urgent works of improvement. In particular the roof! Whilst I would not like to deter our audience members I think all our visitors would agree that the existing roof offers little by way of insulation and the installation of any form of air conditioning would be a waste of time until the roof itself is improved. What better way of spending the money? The main community building within Bingley, used by many of the town's leading community organisations to the benefit of the community as a whole! If you agree perhaps you would kindly contact one of the ward's three councillors colin.gill@bradford.gov.uk david.heseltine...
and our present Lord Mayor robin.owens...
