Ok so many people enjoyed this piece including the actors. Those who responded to my original posting should note that my main criticism was of the actual script and I stand by my view. Yes, there was laughter the evening I watched and obviously the audience enjoyed it - I didn't and still feel that it was a poor choice.The place to stage new writings to my mind belongs in the Studio where actors, directors, writers and technicians can all be "tried out".
Is this forum only a place to post "mahvellous dahling" messages or is constructive critisism something which is not acceptable to the amatuer theatre?
Finally, whilst I agree that we do this as a hobby and as such should enjoy it surely the main reason for productions is for the audiences' benefit?
