Subject: Underground

Super acting, brilliant set (loved the shaking when the train was moving), plenty of action, latent hostility, this one had the lot - well, almost - what a shame the plot had more holes in it than Compo Simonite's socks! Don't get me wrong, as a mindless actioner I thought it was tense, exciting, and a more than passable addition to BLT's credentials for producing broader fare than just comedies. But as a credible story for the thinking man, sorry, person, to cogitate over - I think not! First we had the logistical improbability of getting just the right 11 people, and no others, in the same public carriage of the same public subway train at the same time as the 'mark'. Given the frequency and similarity of Underground trains, and that some of the 11 were already aboard when the train arrived and didn't all just follow the mark on to the train, that seems an incredibly unlikely thing to acheive. Then we had a nurse with a handbag dispensary for all occasions (Malaria? I'm a nurse, I've got some tablets!), and a gang who could somehow spirit a safe deposit box out of a secure Swiss bank (last time I tried to walk out with one they were most unreasonable!) but lacked the wherewithall to pry/cut/drill open said tin box without going through an elaborate charade to get the key!

Twee, I think, is the word. Or am I being too picky? Half of me says "Terrific!" whilst the other half wants to know if the first half has had a reality check recently! Anyway, like I said, overall it still had me on the edge of my seat - it just would have been so much better if the plot hadn't been so execrably flawed.
