I too experienced unacceptable censorship on the cortesisland.com website and seriously considered starting an open forum.

I didn't and you did. So congratulations Dupree! (It will take a while for the importance of this to sink in.)

Comments and suggestions:

This forum uses a very dated text format, a slight advantage if all we have is dial up speed, but otherwise a hindrance. Lots of free (paid by advertising) sites exist with far more eye appeal, better handling of topic and sub-topics, and provision for pictures, attachments and so on that will sometimes be very valuable. It may be worth changing to a new and improved format before too many people learn about this site.

It's very important to keep a broad audience in which EVERYONE feels welcome. While too polite and gentle is the problem with the other forum, this one should be careful not to offend anyone. If Hollyhock, "corporate friends" or anyone else feel uncomfortable here we have done the very thing you tried to get us away from. So... hopefully any adverse comments (if we feel we have adequate reason to write them) will be dignified and respectful. (Hopefully a few less Tai Chi ads though...)
