I might alsdo ask what the previous RD accomplished as well before he fled to the big city. But while Jenny's been in office property taxes have skyrocketted, logging has escalated, the oyster industry has expanded, roads have deteriorated, and ferry prices have risen as well....When the Geoduck controversy reached a head she went camping. All that seems to have been done is the plan to open up beach access trails to make life easier for the summer tourists. Any resident I know knows how to find a beach !!! Then there's the Whaletown commons project which should be funded by a rich donor, not the taxpayers. Fer Crissake Jenny, how about a rebate ?!?! Just what do we get for our tax dollars ? Over the past 10 years or so every portion of my tax bill has gone up by hundreds of percent !
I am left to come to the conclusion that the Regional Director has very little power and can only succeed in dealing with miniscule issues like beach access trails. everything else she can only inform us of what is happenning or about to happen. If someone out there can point to something significant that the RD has accomplished that I may have overlook I'd appreciate hearing about it.
