This photo was published on 10th July 1959, fourteen days before the final night. Miss Sweden Marie-Louise Ekstrom, turns on the charm at Idlewild airport on her arrival in New York to compete for the title of Miss Universe 1959 at Long Beach, California, this month. The girl, 20, hopes to kayo the competition as did her countryman, the boxer Ingemar Johansson, but in a gentler way.
