This photo was published on 12th July, seven days before the final night. Miss France, Lisa Simon (left), 22, of Argenteuil, wonders how her “sari-ty” sister, Miss Sri Lanka, Camellia Perera (righ) of Colombo, endures the New York heat in her native garb. The girls are pictured atop the roof of a New York Hotel where they joined other contestants for the Miss Universe 1957 Sweepstakes to be held July 19 at Long Beach, California.
