• 1) What a lovely question, Carla. I'm a very flexible person, but there are a few things that I hold sacred. Like Casey, I tend to live by a certain code of ethics that was taught to me very early by a wonderful grandfather, there's no compromising in that area (but I'm not so naive as to expect others to operate by that code). My personal freedom, the ability to speak my mind to my representatives (which I do with frequency) is sacrosanct. Finally, after many years of giving it away for free, I've realized that my time is sacred; it is mine, nobody else's. There are other things I'm sure, but these are what spring to mind first. • I went through last night and skimmed through to be prepared for the next questions. (something I haven't been doing :-0) I am ready!! Ok, Sacred. For me it is the Earth. Just that simple. Not on the religious level, or any organized ritual, just being on the earth. Whether it is walking, working, just laying around, but being ON the earth itself. Even dancing is more fun outside, ON the earth. It is that connection that makes it sacred and whole for me. I could do without all these modern things. Sure, at first I would miss em, as I have become used to having em, things like tv, computer, ect, and they seem necessary in todays times, just simply to keep in touch with the rest of the world and what is going on, the computer for business,,,, but the reality is, I could do without em.   • I'm with ya, bug. I am a nature person, but by a series of life choices which I often regret, I live in the middle of the polluted, congested, concrete jungle. I constantly seek what nature there is around me. There was a little tree off to one side of the grocery store parking lot that I would always park under even though the kids and I had to walk farther. One spring, doves nested there and we would feed them bread that we bought at the store. The store decided they needed a drive through pharmacy, so they tore down the tree and poured more concrete. When it was all done, I realized that the way it was built they could have left the tree and I literally cried. I was probably on the rag, but still it was the fact there are too few who respect nature. And I felt as if a little part of me and my kids' life had been torn down for no real reason. Books are also sacred to me and I go stark raving mad when a movie has a character do something that they would never have done in the book!! (NT) -- susiej, 09:24:15 09/21/07 Fri
    • I had to laugh when I read your last sentence, susie, because I've been known to actually get up and leave in disgust when a show/movie takes way too many liberties with character and plot derived from a book. I gave up on the formerly excellent Anne of Green Gables series with Megan Follows as well as Little House on the Prairie when both went totally off the rails (IMHO).       • Not just your opinion girl- that last movie- what the hell? Gilbert goes off to war? That just wasn't right. I'm a purist when it comes to L.M. Montgomery's work, it's pretty much perfection and they shouldn't mess with that. The first movie was fantastic though. I never could watch the 'Emily' series because that was treading on sacred ground and I didn't want to see what they had done to my beloved Emily, Ilse, Teddy and Perry. • Ch 33) 1-- Well, I would ask, why did he go there? Was everyone Casey knew part of the IRA? I would think that he would have gone somewhere safer because he did have Pamela and Lawrence with him. I assumed that, and was totally surprised when they came right in on em. 2-- I have always held together in what ever emergency situations have come up, but when it comes to dealing with men and guns, I can get pretty nervous. I think I could have done what she did, yes. Question here: I don't recall reading anything about the result of her picture taking. Have I just forgotten? 3-- I would assume it was just to watch over Pamela, in case something happened to him, and he wasn't there to do it. I think it would have been a hard note to write as well. • 33. I'm thinking Casey wanted to do this without having to turn to Jamie (for all three of their sakes), but he was still prepared incase he ended up having to. • There are many things I hold sacred- my marriage, my children, keeping my word (I might get to it later than planned, but if I promise to do something I try to follow through no matter what). Good books are sacred to me as well. The reporter who interviewed me today said she will not loan out my books as she doesn't want to lose them- and I thought 'yes, I have some of those too'. • 33.1) Hmmm, was Liam part of the IRA or just a sympathizer. He could have been lifted just for providing the safe house….I don’t know just speculating. I wondered if maybe some of these safe houses were so deep in IRA territory that’s what made them safe…some place the Army was reluctant to go. Again I don’t know just thinking out loud. It felt to me that although Casey would take the precautions, he didn’t think it was an absolute that he’d be lifted. • Family is sacred to me, even when they are getting on my last nerve. As Cindy mentioned so is my marriage (yes it's true despite my lust for Casey & CBF). I do think that society holds too few things sacred today. Though I'm not sure what's to do about that...you can't force someone to have values/morals..that just steps on their rights eh?   • I totally am in agreement with ya there Marilyn. I am glad I was raised and taught the way that I was, and not only recognize right from wrong, but try to live by it as well. Family, honesty, morality,,,,, all those are sacred to me as well. It is the steppin on toes thing that sends me back to the earth. She is pure, and without blame.
