Casey might have hoped that Liam was low enough on the totem pole to be safer than some other choices. Jamie comes to mind immediately, but I can see where Casey's pride might be a roadblock to that scenario. Casey seemed to fear for Pamela and Lawrence, were they to be left alone to encounter soldiers at the cottage. But Casey had an additional need for her to be with him pertaining to #2.

(33-2) Yes, I could separate myself, I've had enough emergency situations as experience. But there'd be no question in my mind - if my husband asked me to record the events on film, I would do it without hesitation realizing the impact of the images on society, perhaps even the world. At first I thought the appearance of the camera might cause the soldiers to behave themselves, but of course not - the soldiers would just destroy the camera and expose the film.

(33-3) I don't think he'd have to tell Jamie to take care of Pamela (and Lawrence) - Jamie would instinctively do that when he learned of Casey's arrest. Since Jamie's closely involved with Patrick, I wonder if Casey might have given him some important inside information, maybe something that might help Patrick, or names of other people needing protection. Or maybe he just told Jamie to always remind Pamela that he (Casey) loved her, in case worse came to worst.

  • I went through last night and skimmed through to be prepared for the next questions. (something I haven't been doing :-0) I am ready!! Ok, Sacred. For me it is the Earth. Just that simple. Not on the religious level, or any organized ritual, just being on the earth. Whether it is walking, working, just laying around, but being ON the earth itself. Even dancing is more fun outside, ON the earth. It is that connection that makes it sacred and whole for me. I could do without all these modern things. Sure, at first I would miss em, as I have become used to having em, things like tv, computer, ect, and they seem necessary in todays times, just simply to keep in touch with the rest of the world and what is going on, the computer for business,,,, but the reality is, I could do without em. They do not dictate who I am, as the earth does. Great question. (NT) -- bug, 07:30:45 09/21/07 Fri
  • I'm with ya, bug. I am a nature person, but by a series of life choices which I often regret, I live in the middle of the polluted, congested, concrete jungle. I constantly seek what nature there is around me. There was a little tree off to one side of the grocery store parking lot that I would always park under even though the kids and I had to walk farther. One spring, doves nested there and we would feed them bread that we bought at the store. The store decided they needed a drive through pharmacy, so they tore down the tree and poured more concrete. When it was all done, I realized that the way it was built they could have left the tree and I literally cried. I was probably on the rag, but still it was the fact there are too few who respect nature. And I felt as if a little part of me and my kids' life had been torn down for no real reason. Books are also sacred to me and I go stark raving mad when a movie has a character do something that they would never have done in the book!! (NT) -- susiej, 09:24:15 09/21/07 Fri
