Yep, I feel the same way. I have a very dear friend who I once gave a book to (I heard the Owl Call my Name, a very beautiful and spirtitual bookabout Pacific NW Indians and the Episcopal priest who lived with them) and she said "Oh don't ever give me another book like that- become the salmon, I hate that." This woman is intelligent and interesting and she does read a lot and I read everything she gives me- I was like WTF is she so uninterested in anything I think.
