Well, here's a brief snippet of that piece- she's been telling him about sailing with the senator from Mass. who later became President and the snippet starts right after that>>>" on 14:27:44 07/28/09 Tue

  • I think it's inevitable that Casey would feel he'd taken Pamela away from her "proper" place in the world, but we have to remember that she was a dollar a dance girl at a seedy pub when she left America the first time and all her father's wealth was gone. She may have fit into that world on the surface, but without her father's money not many would have accepted her as a wife, IMHO, despite her beauty, charm and grace. There is a lovely poetry to their feelings for each other. (NT) -- Carla, 16:52:12 07/28/09 Tue
  • I agree with you, Carla. Hard not to see Pamela without thinking of that 'dollar a dance' girl that attempted to dance her way into Jamie's bed that night. And besides, in her letter she wrote to Jamie at the end of EU, she told him that she was more like Casey and Pat than he knew. So whatever Casey thinks about taking her from a bette world to which she belongs, I don't think she really feels that way. (NT) -- Tess, 08:16:01 07/29/09 Wed
