I think in this situation Pamela did the best she could. She had no idea who that baby was related to and since she still was concealing the rape, then this was the only option in her mind. I can't imagine going through all of what she went through in those couple of months and don't know if I would have named the fetus/baby. But if that brought her some peace or closure then it was the right thing to do. Jamie did what any good friend would do in that situation, stand by her even if he didn't completely agree or if it brought forth painful memories. I think the role that Casey plays in this is 1) Pamela trying to protect him and 2)the fragility of the new relationship between Casey & Pamela. Although they are completely in love, its still a young relationship that could easily fall apart because of something like this. I think Pamela also kept him out of this because of that old saying, "its better to beg for forgiveness than ask for permission." I think Casey being a part of the whole thing would have made a difficult situation for Pamela even more complicated, thus I think she did the best she could with all she had to consider.

  • Still trying to catch up here :-) I don't think anyone, besides Pamela, can say whether she did the right thing or no. I mean we have opinions of course and we might think we'd know what we'd do in her situation, but we really don't if we haven't been there....*think* being the key word imho. She herself might not even be sure it was the right thing to do or not. At the time, her emotions and feelings are guiding her and there's not much time to make a decision. She could later, with more time and in hindsight feel differently and regret and wish she'd made a different choice. I do think Jamie was right to support HER decision, whether he agreed with it or not. Casey? Hmmm, they aren't married yet but I believe he should've played a role, at least been told - but I totally understand why she chose not to include him. (NT) -- Mahri, 07:59:21 07/14/09 Tue
