Subject: As painful as it must feel, I hope you are at least a little reassured in knowing that this is an almost predictable, cyclic part of your writing process, and that you don't suffer with it all alone. I'd say you're in very fine company, in fact!
In reply to: celtgirl 's message, "He said in this interview he did that any writer who doesn't suffer a major crisis of confidence with each work is either a hack or a dilettante with his head up his arse. :) Every time I write a book I go through this same phase, 'can I do this again/what the hell was I thinking with this storyline/and there's no way to pull this dang mess together so I should just go get a real job.' I'm usually there for a few months, and I'm there now with this one." on 10:31:59 07/15/09 Wed

  • I think anybody who truly cares about what they do suffers those crisis in confidence each time they put themselves out there, at least in professions where you are on the line, either personally or with something you create, it's natural to question and doubt yourself. I think I speak for us all when I say I'm darn glad you persevere, Cindy, and gift us with your wonderful books. (NT) -- Carla, 11:01:23 07/15/09 Wed
