(46-1) I was surprised that Pat more than suspected his father's death was not accidental. Brian's death seems to be a taboo topic for Casey, something he is uncomfortable talking about with Pat, which I can kind of understand, but he's usually honest with Pamela. Even after all these years, the subject is still raw with Casey. Casey may be protecting Pamela from the knowledge that his father was deliberately killed and more targets may be on Casey's back than Pamela even suspects. -- Cindy's Cottage

Back in EU when Casey remarked that his dad was a bomb expert and that he doubted it was an accident, I always thought that Casey thought Brian had committed suicide and Casey was hurt in that it seemed his dad had abondoned them. Right after that was when Casey made his illfated choice to do the job that landed him in prison and I always chalked that up to his pain. Am I the only one who thought Casey saw it as suicide?     - He worried that his father had, indeed, commited a form of suicide, but at a instinctual level knew it wasn't in his father's nature to do so. He tried to disguise this fear from Pat though, as he wanted Pat to think it was accidental, but as pointed out, Pat is very intuitive and there aren't too many smokescreens the boy can't see through.
