1. What factors do you think motivated these individuals to single out and attack swing music in such an alarming way?

1A. they most likely made such bold comments because they are afraid that america's "Values" might change. Whenever there are news things being created, there is always that one annoying group of people who appose it. my question to them is why ruin it for everybody!? different racial group were coming together and uniting different people on many different levels. so the skeptics are just stuck in the ways of the past

2. Are these attacks racially motivated? Give proof.

2A. it very well could be racial based. it the time this was going on, people were still wanting to stick to their own kind but this new form of music was breaking down barriers and some people were worried about it

3. Is is possible that music can do the things that they claim swing does?

3A. in a way, music can affect people but not to the same extent that it is being described... When Dr. A. A. Brill said "It is like taking a drug." today, just because you are listening to rap does't turn you into a criminal who drives down to the seven11, caps the clerk, cleans out the store, and takes the register. music can't just make you do things, it may influence you but not define you

4. Are there types of music that are immoral?

4A. music can sing about immoral things but there is something called freedom of speech which allows them to. just like it is your choice whether or not you want to listen to their immoral music. music itself cannot be immoral because it is a personal opinion.

5. Can you think of other examples of harsh reactions to a music form since you've been around?

5A. when suburban mom's tried to ban eminem from the grammys awards. i personally thought it was hilarious that they even cared enough to waste their time. eminem went anyway and still won
