I recently had trouble with my Unliminted MetroCard and sent it in the day right after the trouble. So I waited about 2 weeks to receive a letter telling me information that I already knew (the trouble with the card) BUT MTA had the ballz to tell me that I mailed the card in too late for them to "substantiate" the trouble and therefore I was NOT ENTITLED to any reimbursement. If this isn't fleecing the ridership, I don't know what is.
