I bought a 20$ card last week, Monday. Used it on Tuesday morning. The reader said "See Agent". I saw the agent who told me that the card was no good because it registered that I'd used it... get this... "Tomorrow"! A brand new card, never used until the first swipe and I actually went forward in time by a whole day to use it the next day! Bottom line? The old "pass the envelope" act. I mailed the card and the receipt in. I lost 20$ plus the 3$ extra on it (WHY NOT 4$? What moron came up with giving 3$ on a card?) and I had to buy ANOTHER 20$ card. Meanwhile, the MTA benefits from the 20$ they already stole from me. They're getting smarterer and smarterer in their schemes to fill their pockets. Where's Patterson NOW?
