Yesterday was the tip of the iceberg. Her teacher confirmed a few things and the other person claimed he didn't remember (I have a way of drawing out confessions) but I could tell he was trying to cover for her. My dd broke down and confessed everything. It wasn't one thing that was terribly bad, but little things that turned into a big ball of wax. I will not tolerate disrespect to anyone and will definitely not tolerate lying. It was not a pleasant task and one I still feel very bad about. Even moreso than the spanking I think she was not very happy with me for the tearful discussion. There are some things she is working out, but that doesn't excuse bad behavior. She was very sulky last not and maybe slightly defiant, but this morning she was very sweet, loving and cooperative. It did brake my heart sitting gently on her sore bottom, but nothing is broken and I think this will lead to better results for her.
