The most significant foreign policy was when Dienbienphu fell to the Vietnamese communists President Eisenhower believed we must step in. Eisenhower and Secretary of State Dulles proposed the Southeast Asia Treaty Organization. The Southeast Asia Treaty Organization (SEATO) was formed so the nations would meet in order to agree on how they can be protected from communism in case of an aggression. This was the first organization that helped contain communism and led to more foreign policies regarding the protection of other countries from communism.
