Boy, 13yo, North Am, appendicectomy and other probable interventions

I am male. It happened in North America, 2015 or later. 13 years old. My doctor said that he wanted me to see a doctor about my appendix even though I hadn't had any problems with it. My parents drove me to the exam.

It happened in a small town health center and a hospital near by.

I attended ordinary daytime school. It was just a normal junour high school

PREPARATIONS

I was not allowed to eat some time before the exam. I got a traditional enema before the exam to clean out my stomach. I was given a gown but was naked under the gown in the time I stayed awake. They placed me upon a simple examination table. They placed me upon an advanced surgical table.

I got IVs tubes into blood vessels in an arm. I got a device on a finger or a toe to measure pulse and oxygen in my blood. I got a blood pressure monitor wrapped around an arm or a leg.

I got electrodes on my cheast. I got a tube or wire in through my urethra. I got anesthesia through tubes into my blood vessels. I got anesthesia gas to breath in through a mask. They paralyzed my whole body and I got artificial breathing.

For the first exam I had to lay down in just my underwear and a pair of hospital pants well they did an ultrasound to see where my appendix was. For the surgery it was in an operating room and I had a gown on to walk in but it was removed well I was being prepared for surgery

EXAMINATIONS WITH EXTERNAL EQUIPMENT

They examined my stomach area with and ultrasound device or something similar.

INTERNAL PROCEDURES

They made an opening in my belly button or just under it and inspected the inside of my belly with a scope. They told me that I was going to be having a surgery called an appendectomy to take out my appendix. They said that it would take anywhere between 45 minutes to 90 minutes with a possibility of 2 hours. They went in through my belly button


ARRANGEMENTS AFTER THE PROCEDURE

They held me inconscious for some hours. I had breathing tube. They gave me mechanical ventilation through the breathing tube. I had IVs into blood vessels.

I had electrodes on my body. I had catheter into my bladder. I had a tube going in through my nose or down into my stomach. I had a hospital payama on after the exam.

I had the breathing tube in for a few minutes after i was determined to be awake they kept the heart monitor and blood pressure cuff on me for a few more hours and the catheter in for a day or two.


COMMENTS

I do not think this ordeal was primarily an apendicectomy, even though that also happened.

I think the boy undervent extensive endoscopic inspections to look for anomalies and possible signs of diseases.

- Through his urethra into his urinary system
- Through his anus into his lower digestive system
- Through his esophagus into his upper digestive system
- Through the hole made in his belly button into his abdominal cavity.

In addition to taking out his apendix, they probably made some adjustments in his upper digestive system and his urinary system

The long time he was under anesthesia, the tube down to his stomach and the long time he kept the catheter point to this.
