Girl 11yo, UK Health check with extensive pelvic assesshernt

The story of this girl was told by her mother. It happened in UK, western Europe in the period 1990-1999, when she was 11 yeares old. The reason for the exam were infections and abnormal bleedings. The exam occurred in a health center taken there by her mother and the mother was present during the exam together with the doctor.

What is your opinion about this ordeal? Doctor said it was needed so i let them examine her. The exam took a very long tiher.


OVERVIEW OF THE EXAM

They examined the organs inside her chest. They examined her organs inside her stomach. They examined her genitals. They examined her rectal zone. They did a general examination of her pelvic zones.

They inserted instruhernts into her urinary opening. catheter, otoscope. They inserted instruhernts into her vagina. speculum, otoscope.

They inserted instruhernts into her rectal opening, otoscope type thing.

They perforherd a neurologic exam with electrodes on her body. They perforherd an electrocardiogram of her heart.

They took x-rays of the examined areas. They took ultrasound pictures of the examined areas.


ARRANGEherNTS AND ANESTHESIA

She was given anesthesia through a mask. She was sedated but awake. She was totally naked. her positions during the exam: stirrupd, knee chest. Any strange equiphernt or arrangehernts in the exam room? straps on stirrups and arm rests


THE EVENT STEP BY STEP

The first thing they did with her: have her undress. The second thing they did: lay her down and give mask to breathe through. The third thing they did: position and strap her in. The forth thing they did: clean and catheterise Then the examination


UROLOGIC AND GENITAL EXAM

They used a catheter to collect urine They inserted a scope to look into her bladder. They palpated her outer female genitals. They spread her genital lips to look inside. They examined her vagina with a speculum. They took specimens (pap sherars etc) from her vagina with an instruhernt.

They perforherd an outer ultrasound exam of her female genitals and lower tummy area. They perfoherd an ultrasound exam through her vagina.


RECTAL EXAM

They spread her cheeks and examined extarnally her rectal zone. They examined her rectum with an inserted finger. They inserted a speculum into her anus to examine it internally.


DIAGNOSIS AND FOLLOW-UPS

The exam resulted in this surgery and medication as follow-up.


COMMENT

Kids in the prepubertal age have fairly frequent functional pelvic problems and infections, both boys and girls. Often it results in this type of exam to explore the reason. Some societies let all prepubertal children go through this type of exam to detect pelvic problems, but tell little about it to the public.

Girl 13yo Sussex in England a thorrough development and puberty check

I am female. It happened in Western Europe 1970-1979 13 years old.

My parents knew about it but they didn't give me any details before just said I was going to get a checkup. My parents drove me to the exam at a health center.


All children with some kind of health problem and children with some kind of unusual bahavior or interests were subjected to the ordeal.

It was in Sussex England. I think that kids were selected for this based on their different attitudes probably volunteered by their parents more on that later.

I think the reason we were taken to that exam is our parents were worried about how we dressed on the beach. Lots of kids went without swimsuits at younger ages and most girls didn't wear tops back then but I was really shy and didn't even want to wear a one-piece without a shirt over it. My parents always seemed to have a problem with that and ask what was wrong with me. I recognized at least one other girl at the exam who I also noticed at the beach was always fully covered that's why I suspect that.


PREPARATIONS:

They washed me before the exam. I was totally naked through all the procedures. I had to strip totally naked before the exam. They placed me upon a simple examination table. I was placed to lay on my stomack with streight legs. I got a device on a finger or a toe to measure pulse and oxygen in my blood.


I got a blood pressure monitor wrapped around an arm or a toe. I did not get any anesthesia except something to swallow.


When I got there they told me to undress. I was very shy and didn't want to but the doctor and nurses insisted tried to coerce and convince me. I tried to ask if I could have the exam in my knickers and started undressing to those but a nurse just tugged my knickers off before I could respond. The doctor assured me that being naked was part of getting examined.

Then they took me outside the exam room door (which was never closed during any of this) and had me weighed naked in the hallway. They seemed to purposely leave me standing there a long time.


EXAMINATIONS AND TESTS USING EXTERNAL METODS:

They performed an ECG functional test of the heart function with electrodes on my chest and other body areas.

I had to do some physical work like cycling or running on a threadmill when the ECG and breathing analysis was performed.

They x-ray pictures of my chest stomach. shoulder area hip area and my limbs.

They examined my genitals with an ultrasound device. They had electrodes at my genitals to record functions in this area.


INTERNAL INSPECTIONS:

They used a speculum in my vagina. They inspected my vagina with a scope. They inspected me through my vagina with an ultrasound probe. The doctor explored my vagina with a finger.


HOW THE EXAMINATION PROCEEDED:

They did a thorough manual examination of all of my parts with a lot of attention put into commenting on everything the shape the size and especially the specific level of puberty hair growth etc. Then they asked me lots of personal questions about masturbation sexual activity thoughts while fantasizing things like that. I was really embarrassed and couldn't answer most of it.

I kept covering myself with my hands they told me to stop and when I wouldn't they strapped my hands down to the table so I couldn't. After they were done examining my vagina they pulled my legs apart and strapped those down too.

Lots of nurses came through in and out examining me closely. I just turned red. They had the table facing the open door the whole time and left me alone for a few periods of a few minutes during the process.


ARRANGEMENT AFTER THE EXAM:

I lay with my legs in stirrups some time after the exam. I was put in a separate room like a waiting room but closed off with an open door with about a dozen other kids roughly my age all naked. Most were trying to cover ourselves but a few seemed more comfortable and one boy didn't seem to mind at all.

We were mostly too awkward to talk to each other. We stayed in there for about a half hour then they asked who needed to go to the bathroom and they took the few of us who did in there together so we could watch while we used the toilet.


THE SCHOOL I ATTENDED:

I went to some other type of main school. I went to a pretty good private school in a decent neighborhood by the sea.

COMMENT

It looks like this community had a standardized program for a thorrough development and puberty assessment of all children pr teens that seemed to differ from the standard of the society.

Probably her prants were afraid the girl had some development problems and announced their concern to the authorities.


But it also looks like the program was used for instruction of nurses under specialization and that the kids were used as instruction objects.

She reports that they used a scope in her vagina. I suspect that this was an inspection inside her bladder with a rigid cystosocope. It is very easy to do such inspections on girls.

Girl, 12yo, UK, pelvic development study and hunting for sexual abuse symptoms in group

I am female. It happened in Western Europe in the period 1990-1999, when I was 12 years old. No warning given, we were just told to get on the bus for exam day. I didn't know it was happening. We went in a bus in group from our school to a health center. It happened all children in my school of the age group.

I'm in the UK. It was done one class at a time. My parents were never informed. When we arrived at the health center, we were all told by a nurse to leave our clothes on the bus and come out barefoot and in our underwear, but I don't wear any knickers or bra because my mom says they're not healthy.

I told the teacher and he just said to do as I was told, and take everything off then. I was the only one there naked (one other girl was in just knickers but she was flat-chested).

I tried covering myself up but the teacher moved my arms to my sides and told me none of that I'll make the others self-conscious if I act that way. I was totally naked through all the procedures. W had to take all my clothes off just before we got anesthesia.


ARRANGEMENTS AND ANESTHESIA

They placed me upon a simple examination table. I was placed to lay on my back with my legs flexed up spread and mounted upon two devices, to lay on my stomack with streight legs, to lay on my stomach with my legs flexed down and spread and on my right side.

I got a device on a finger or a toe to measure pulse and oxygen in my blood. I got electrodes on my legs.

I got something to swallow. I got lubricating and numbing cream into my vagina.

They put a bunch of boys and girls in each room together, sat on tables in view of each other while they did quick but thorough examinations of us.

Everyone got some kind of cream on their genitals, but the other girls got their underwear back after that, the boys didn't so.

I was still the only naked girl.


EXAMINATION WITH EXTERNAL EQUIPMENT

They used electrodes at my belly to record body functions. They ued electrodes at my limbs to record body functions.
They had electrodes at my genitals to record functions in this area.


INTERNAL INSPECTIONS

They used a speculum in my vagina. The doctor explored my vagina with a finger. The doctor explored my anus with a finger.

Both boys and girls had their breasts checked very thoroughly. My nipples were pinched quite roughly, but my head was already woozy from the medicine earlier so I just let it happen.

Anyone with a lot of pubic or leg hair had it shaved, so electrodes could be put on their genitals and legs for those tests. I didn't have much.


ARRANGEMENTS AFTER THE EXAM

I lay with my legs in stirrups some time after the exam. The doctor left the room several times during the exam (to go look at the other kids?) and we were left looking at each other with our legs up on the tables.

After a while we were given a thorough wiping on the genitals to remove the cream from before and told to sat around to dry for a while before those with underwear put it back on and then everyone got on the bus and got dressed and went back to school.


THE SCHOOL I ATTENDED

I went to some other type of main school. Just a private school.


COMMENTS

These boys and girls were used in a project to study the pelvic and sexual development of teenagers in the society where they lived. The project also had the purpose of screening for sexual abuse and unapproved sexual bahavior. Studying the reaction of the kids of seing each other naked was a part of the project.

Even though it is not told, the kids were nearly surely also taken pictures and videos of, by means of hidden cameras, and these studied by doctors and other authorities therafter. The way the kids were handled and exposed is exactly that way that suits such picture taking. The child protective agency was probably involved in the study.

The nakedness and lack of privacy also seems to have had the purpose of making the ordeals as economical as possible, which point to this being done with many or all children in the society, but without telling anything about it

At that time many societies suffered from a hysteria approaching the degree of psychosis regarding sexual abuse and inappropriate sexual behavior of children. That led authorities to use any means to detect signs that could be interpreted as symptoms of the kind, also means that the children themselves might find abusive. This is also a part of the explanation for the way this ordeal was run.
