You mentioned that they instructed you to check the genitals of your kids once a week until age 18 and report back. I guess that this check is not a strictly genital one, but a more comprehensive pelvic and abdominal check. It could be interesting to know more about it.

I think this is very important, because it can detect early serious problems.

I remember my own parents did this. But it happend at early night after I had gone to sleep and had got some relaxing medication, and I was sleeping when it happened. Occationally I woke up and remmber glimpses of what they did, which was:

- Palpating my lower abdomen.
- Cheking my hip joints with palpation and leg flexing
- Palpating my scrotum and testicles
- Redrawing my foreskin and checking my urethral opening
- Injecting some preventive medicine into my urethra
- Checking my anal area
- Checking my anal spincter and perineal muscles with an inserted finger
- I guess they took my rectal temperature but I do not remember it
- They inserted an elastic tube into my urethra and inflated it to adjust it.

I usually slept with some underwear, but at those occations, the underpants was taken away, and I woke up in the morning with naked lower body parts. But I never reflected upon it, so I think the relaxing medication still was in effect and hindered me from thinking much.

Since I was mostly sleeping, I am not quite aware of whome did it all. But I think it was mostly my father with my mother watching. Also I am sure a nurse living in the same apartment building did some of it. She was frequently consulted by people and probably earned som tax-free money from it.
